CAB 413 - Saddle leather small armchair: Mario Bellini calls it a groundbreaking seat, crafted entirely from leather and widely imitated ever since. Designed in the 1970s, this iconic piece remains a star in Cassina’s I Contemporanei collection.

CAB 413 broke new ground as the first chair with a free-standing leather frame, inspired by how skin wraps around our bones. Its upholstery is made from sixteen pieces of saddle leather, each hand-treated through fourteen steps. The leather sections are stitched together only after their edges are carefully trimmed for a flawless fit. Once complete, the cover zips onto the steel frame like a custom-made tailored suit, melding craftsmanship with comfort.
