Marble and Steel Centrepiece ECLITTICA by Stella Orlandino

Marble and steel centrepiece ECLITTICA features an elegant and modern form. Designed in 2020 by Stella Orlandino for KIMANO, it was 100% made in Italy.

Easily at home in any space, it features brushed marble that metaphorically reflects the colours of the planets of our solar system and which are enclosed within a perforated tray in black powder-coated iron. Eclittica, in fact, means "ecliptic": the centre of a region called the zodiac. Traditionally, this region is divided into 12 signs, each of 30° of celestial longitude and named after 12 of the 13 constellations in the Milky Way that straddle the ecliptic.

The aim here was to enclose the ecliptic in an apparent motion, like a belt forged by the stars of the constellations, guarding a slice of the universe reflected in a play of chiaroscuro, like during an eclipse.
